Comfort in the heart of the bush

Tsavo’s man-eating lions
Patterson's Safari Camp has been constructed on a site of great historical significance. It was in this area that Colonel J.H. Patterson, shot and killed the two man-eating lions of Tsavo whilst he was in charge of the construction of the Kenya-Uganda Railway line in 1899.

Today those very lions are exhibited at the Field Museum in Chicago, U.S.A. The story has been made famous by the movie
The Ghost and the Darkness, and other films and documentaries which we show regularly on request: wildlife sounds in the background add to the authenticity of the film’s setting.
